We’re pleased to be launching An Xiao’s Streethaiku in America today with this photograph. It’s the first of many photos that An, an artist and design strategist based in Los Angeles, will be posting for the museum as part of the exhibition America Through a Chinese Lens, April 26 – September 10, 2012 (opening reception on April 25, 6-8pm). Hello! My name is An Xiao (Mina) and I’ll be posting pictures to this blog for the next few months as I document my experience of life in the US. I grew up here but everything feels new again after having spent a year in China, the Philippines and Korea. My friend Lingyan took this picture of me in the Pacific Design Center at an installation by Post Modern Production. I’m wearing a cloak of Tyvek in a Tyvek-lined room.
